MEET THE PLAYWRIGHT Kathryn Schultz Miller had been one of the most highly respected playwrights for Young Audiences and Young Performers for several decades. Beginning years ago, as founder and artistic director of the professional touring theater, ArtReach (Cincinnati, OH), Ms. Schultz Miller has written and produced many award-winning scripts such as her most admired, A Thousand Cranes. Others include Trail of Tears, Young Cherokee and Welcome Home as well as many adaptations of literature and history. Many scripts have been published by national publishers and professional theatres across the globe continue to perform these plays reaching thousands of young audiences every year.
The website, ArtReach Children's Theatre Plays, was founded in 2001 and has been enormously successful ever since. Ms. Schultz Miller has adapted many plays for young people and schools to perform. Calling upon her decades of experience, she incorporates her unique understanding of child play and natural improvisation in each and every large cast script. Every playscript is adapted for young people to explore their innate ability to imagine and express themselves in everyday play. Each child has a special moment and every instance of audience participation is a meaningful exchange.
